READ BUT NEVER RED is delighted to partner with US sports equipment manufacturer Warrior to offer our readers the chance to win a pair of Warrior Superheat boots worth £130.00.
We put a pair of the super chic boots through their paces to give first hand feedback on the footwear that pushes back the boundaries in boot technology.
Warrior is becoming an increasingly high profile brand and a major player in the UK sportswear market. Exponents of the brand include Manchester City’s Captain Fantastic Vincent Kompany and former Etihad favourite, Cardiff City’s fiery Craig Bellamy.
Available in blue and red – guess which colour we selected – we played three competitive matches to be able to deliver a comprehensive review.
The READ BUT NEVER RED verdict goes something like this – SUPERB – superior to the Adidas Predator and Nike Mercurial boot, and no we’re not just saying that, we’ve worn the lot.
The advertising blurb wasn’t telling any porkies when they describe the Superheat as a ‘second skin’ – they really are amazingly light and in harmony with the player http://www.warriorfootball.com/boot/superheat
The Superheat upper uses revolutionary Tri-fusion bonded skin for limitless touch and speed.
The extremely lightweight Neoweb, a bonded water resistant upper mesh construction, moulds to the contours of the foot, providing infinite comfort, breathability and freedom of movement.
The second bonded TPU layer balances efficient support with optimum agility, finished off with Organitouch, a super-thin outer film to enhance sensitivity and touch, aiding close ball control while running at high speeds.
Implanted in the heel, a hidden internal Membrane Heel Shield provides unseen support and protection against unforgiving challenges.
A durable sole plate is constructed from a tough compound material, allowing it to withstand adverse weather conditions and varying playing surfaces.
The configuration of the Clawtech blades offers optimum versatile traction to dominate on dry and firm surfaces.
Aesthetically eye-catching, opponents and team mates alike, were very interested in examining the boots at very close quarters.
Indeed it didn’t prevent one clown from getting too closely acquainted with the footwear, with an over the top challenge that left our RBNR reviewer with bruising on the top of his right foot.
It comes with the territory of ultra modern day football footwear that players can be more vulnerable to injuries. The ‘curse of the broken metatarsal’ doesn’t strike that often thank goodness, but it’s the only trade-off when comparing with boots of a bygone age.
It’s a compromise completely worth making. Once you’ve worn these boots you’d be hard pressed to want to swap them for any competing brands – they are so supple and in tune with the wearer.
TO WIN A PAIR OF THE SUPERHEAT BOOTS IN BLUE (RECOMMENDED) OR RED (YUK) all you have to do is tell READ BUT NEVER RED which Manchester City player wears Warrior boots?
